Latest update :

Added visual helpers to help you place correctly your mushrooms.

Added a line showing the path a transfer will make.

When transferring power, you can now double click instead of a single click to transfer all possible power without breaking a connection.

Transferring power now reduce the size of the source shroom way faster.

Fixed some weird "sepuku" mechanic where a mushroom will die after transferring a big amount of power and then create an offspring.

Moar level.

---------------------------------

The world turned black and white! Use your chromatic mushrooms to spread its colors back, and destroy the nega-mushrooms that want to spread inverted colors!

How to play :

You are the brown colored mushrooms. Your opponent is the blue colored mushrooms. Your goal is to destroy the opponent's root while protecting yours. Mushrooms with the small stars flying around passively generate power.

By clicking on your mushrooms, you can select one (you can unselect it by doing a right-click). When a mushroom is selected, you can click in its direct zone to create a new mushroom. You will see a line that link it to its parent. These new mushroom don't generate new power. If your mushroom zone touch a neutral mushroom zone, the neutral mushroom will join your mushrooms. (Note: You won't be able to create a new mushroom, if it would be disconnected from the root)

There are visual hints to tell you about how to place your mushrooms :
  • Green means your placement is valid
  • Orange means your placement is valid, but connection(s) will break if you proceed. (there is small crosses showing you which ones)
  • Red means your placement can break the connection to the parent. This can stop your mushroom of spreading if they have no other way to connect to the root.
  • A red cross mean that your placement is invalid.

--

If your mushroom zone touches an enemy mushroom's zone, both mushrooms will lose power until their zone doesn't touch anymore. If a mushroom loses too much power and isn't linked anymore with its root, it will gradually turn neutral, unless another mushrooms is close enough to connect again.

When you have a mushroom selected, you can click on another mushroom. By doing so, a small amount of power is transferred to that new mushroom. You can also double click to send as much power as possible without breaking connections

All these rules also apply to the enemy mushrooms.

Some tips:

  • Search for mushroom with a thin connection to their parent. it's generally the right place to strike

  • Be careful not to break connections when you create a new mushroom! You can easily lose a huge amount of mushrooms this way.
  • The less a mushroom has power, the more it will generate new power if it is able to.
  • It may be a good strategy to put additional mushrooms between already-existing mushrooms. It helps to stabilize your branches.

Very interesting mechanics, I would like to buy the game no matter the outcome of the jam... Definitely has potential :)

Oh boy just thought of it, imagine this being multiplayer and fighting other people :O Ok, I'll stop fanboying now... Good luck

Hello. Thanks for the positive feedback.

I don't think I'll work more of that project after the end of the Jam, because I already have other projects that are waiting.

However, the project will be public on Github after the Jam, so feel free to take a shot at redoing it and make it better.
